This tour is designed for you to get to know and enjoy the beauties the western and central part of the island over a period of 10 days and 9 nights. You´ll get to visit Havana, Viñales, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, Playa Larga beach in Cienaga de Zapata.

Your detailed itinerary:

Day 1: Havana City

  • Arrival and welcome at the Havana International airport (ask previously for your pick up in case of another arrival airport). Transfer-in from the airport to your private accommodation, your guide will provide you with basic information  about the dressing codes, currency exchange and other aspects of general interest.
  • Depending on the arrival time of your flight, we might pre-book for you in one of the many PALADARES (private family restaurants) in Havana. If you have any reference from a friend or previous Cuba traveler, let us know in advance so we can organize a reservation in the restaurant of your preference.
  • Check in at your private accommodation in Havana.


Day 2: Havana City

In the morning

We suggest starting at 9:00 am

  • Walking city tour around Old Havana. Explore the main squares and dig into history of this beautiful colonial part of the city.
  • Drive on classic American car of the 50´ies. Enjoy a drive on a Classic American car through the main streets and neighborhoods of the city, encounter yourself with the Malecón (famous Havana´s waterfront), 23rd Street in Vedado, the luxurious 5th Avenue of Miramar. Stop for a fresh cocktail at one of the famous bars which Hemingway used to visit, El Floridita for a daiquiri, La Bodeguita del Medio for a mojito.
  • Lunch and time on your own in Old Havana.

In the afternoon

After lunch, if it is of your interest, you may select some of the following extra activities, having a transport at your disposal for 4 hours – Extra charge: 60 Euros

  • Visit the Fine Arts Museum
  • Visit the Revolution Museum
  • Visit the Napoleon Museum
  • Visit the City Museum (Palacio de los Capitanes y Generales)
  • Visit the house and birthplace of Jose Marti (National Hero)
  • Miramar neighborhood and its 5th Avenue
  • Time at Playas del Este, famous beaches 25 km from Havana – Extra cost

In the evening

We suggest starting at 8:00 pm

After getting back in your accommodation for a quick shower and a little rest to ¨recharge your batteries¨, you may select among some of the following activities:

  • Dinner at a Paladar of your choice
  • For those who prefer a light dinner at a great ambience, we suggest the terrace-bar at El Cocinero.
  • For those who want to prolong their stay at Old Havana, the brewery ¨La Muralla¨ or the tapas bar ¨La Vitrola¨, at La Plaza Vieja, are very good options.
  • For late night outters, good options at clubs with live music, such as Sarao´s bar, Corner Café, Melen Club, Jazz Café, La Zorra y el Cuervo, Don Cangrejo, Sangri La, and more.
  • And for those looking for salsa, both Casas de la Música nightclubs, in Miramar and Centro Habana, are the perfect spots.

Note: During the evening, you can have a driver and a guide, at your disposal.


Day 3: Heading Western, to Viñales town

Viñales, a small town surrounded by a stunning landscape was founded by a group of families from Galicia, Spain, in a very fertile region where different crops grow at the same time -with tobacco as the main of them- declared as Cultural Landscape Heritage by UNESCO in 1999.

Viñales is the perfect spot for Nature lovers, walk around the valley and visit a tobacco farm, talk to locals and farmers as the same, ride a horse and explore further on, or simply go on a trekking excursion, birdwatching, or a bike tour around this quiet, simple and original small town.

For those big explorers, Viñales holds lots of caves in its territory, being the highest point the cave system Santo Tomás, largest cave all over Cuba, with 43 km.

  • Pick up at your accommodation, after breakfast, to start your way to Viñales.
  • Brief stop at ¨Las Barrigonas¨ for a coffee or a drink and some stretching. In Las Barrigonas, was installed one of the first WIFI hotspots in the province Pinar del Río.
  • Arriving in Viñales, take a time for a first encounter with Viñales at ¨Mirador Hotel Los Jazmines¨, and enjoy the view, admire the landscape.
  • Visit the valley ¨Dos Hermanas¨, and know the origin and story of ¨Mural de la Prehistoria¨a wall-painting on rock-wall of one of the many ¨mogotes¨, rounded hummocks-like mountains - in Viñales.
  • Lunch at a local paladar
  • Visit ¨La Cueva del Indio¨ and enjoy a short boat trip in its underground river.
  • Check in at private accommodation in Viñales.
  • Dinner at home or in a private restaurant of your choice.


Day 4: Back to Havana

You have several options before departing to Havana.

  • You can spend part of your day at a wonderful quiet beach known as Cayo Jutías, in the northern coast of the province Pinar del Río, and about 70 kms away from Viñales. ​Or before leaving to Havana, you could take a while to walk around the main square and streets in Viñales, have a drink, listen to some music. Or visit some farmers and locals during a horse ride back around the valley. If possible, grab your swim suits for a river / lake swimming.
  • Arrival to Havana. Time to freshen up. Dinner at home or at any local paladar of your interest.
  • Time on your own to continue exploring the city


Day 5: Let us know ¨La Perla del Sur¨. Cienfuegos (230 kms / 2.5 hours)

Cienfuegos, the smallest city in Cuba, is by the way the only one which its foundation was led by French families and not by the usual Spanish ones. Just by entering the city you can notice the difference between Cienfuegos and the other seven  Spanish villages founded in the 16th Century, such as Havana and Trinidad. In Cienfuegos we will:

  • Visit its famous Boulevard and its main square, surrounded by very important buldings, such as the Cathedral, Terry theater, Café Palatino and the Government Palace. Head briefly to Punta Gorda, a former ¨American neighborhood¨, and meet the Yacht Club of Cienfuegos visit Palacio Valle, an amazing house from the beginning of the 20th century.
  • Check in at your private house in Cienfuegos.
  • Night on your own.


Day 6: Heading to Trinidad (90 km, 1.5 hours)

Trinidad, declared as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1988, is one of the architectonical jewels of the center of the island and Cuba. Founded and settled between mountains and sea in the early 1514, it became an incredible spot where history, nature and the Caribbean Sea mixed up together in perfect harmony. This will be for sure, one of the highlights of your trip in Cuba.

In the morning:

  • Arrival in Trinidad. Check in at your private accommodation.
  • Lunch at a local paladar

In the afternoon:

  • Explore the city and the historic center with its various museums, visit a couple of them to get in touch with the traditions and legends of the wealthy families in Trinidad.

In the evening

  • Dinner at a local paladar
  • Night on your own. We suggest a visit to Casa de la Música or any of the many bars and clubs with live traditional Cuban music around the city. Your tour guide should update you about the hot spots for the Trinidad nights.


Day 7: Trinidad. Tour the colonial city and its surroundings

In the morning

We suggest starting at 9:00 am

  • Visit the Valle de los Ingenios, a fertile region around 7 kms away from the center of Trinidad, where sugar cane became the main crop, and slaves the work force to harvest and process it. Visit a colonial farm-house and and take the risk to climb a 43 mts high tower to enjoy a great view of this well-known ¨Valley of the Sugar Mills¨, counting more than 30 by the 50´s of the 18th century.
  • Take a walk around the city for further, deeper scouting.
  • Lunch at a local paladar
  • In the afternoon, enjoy and relax at Playa Ancón
  • Night on your own


Day 8: Way back to Havana, but first: Playa Larga – 170 Km / 2.5 hours

Playa Larga might become a starting point for those looking for real adventure. You may decide among a birdwatching tour, a nature trail, to go on snorkeling or scuba diving in open waters, or simply go for a swimming, and enjoy the beach.

In the way from Playa Girón to Playa Larga, all along the shore, there are several fine spots for snorkeling and scuba diving, ¨La Cueva de los Peces¨, an underwater cave, 70 mts deep approximately, is for sure one the biggest highlights.


Day 9: Back to Havana (172 kms / 2 hours)

In the way from Playa Larga to Jagüey Grande – to reach the highway to Havana – you will meet La Boca, though away only 20 minutes from Playa Larga, take a break and visit the Crocodile Protection Farm or ¨La Aldea Taína¨, a small hotel built in the middle of a lake, representing the constructions from our aboriginals.

In the afternoon

  • Arrival in Havana. Check-in at your private accommodation.

In the evening

  • Dinner in a local paladar.

  • Night on your own. Explore the many night venues for music and drinks.


Day 10 – Havana

Note: This day, activities will be organized / scheduled according to departure flight times.

In the morning

Activities starting at 9:00 am

  • Let us know in advance if there is any particular wish you would like to accomplish before departure.
  • Lunch at a local paladar
  • Transfer out to the airport
